I’m Nobu, the creator of this site. I was born and raised in Japan and have lived here for 50 years.
My perspective spans across three Japanese eras: the late Showa, the entire Heisei, and the current Reiwa. This allows me to share not just current trends, but also the cultural transitions and “hidden history” of Japan that only a long-term resident would know. By profession, I am an engineer, so I also aim to share insights into Japanese technology and craftsmanship.
